” Group Accident insurance policy “

-> 10 lakhs accident insurance by paying Rs 299 introduced by the Indian Postal Department

-> One such relief scheme is implemented by the India Post Payments Bank of the Department of Posts under the name of Group Accident Guard Policy. The insurance plan is in partnership with Tata AIG Insurance.

-> For those aged between 18 and 65 years. The policy term is one year. After this the policy can be renewed.

-> India Post Payments Bank Account is required to join the scheme. You can subscribe to the insurance policy from the nearest post office or postman/postwoman.

How much rupees will be received as compensation?

-> Accidental death and physical disability due to accident during the policy period will get compensation of up to Rs.10 lakhs.

-> Along with this, the hospital expenses and post-mortem expenses will be paid from the insurance.

-> Two policies of Rs 299 and Rs 399 are available from the Department of Posts.

-> The policyholder will get a maximum of Rs 60,000 for hospital expenses. If the actual cost is less than this amount will be allowed.

-> Up to Rs 60,000 if hospitalization is required due to an accident and up to Rs 30,000 if no hospitalization is required.

-> Both the Rs 299 policy and the Rs 399 policy offer these benefits in general.

399 policy with extra benefits

-> There are additional benefits if you join the Rs 399 policy.

-> If you join the premium of Rs 399, you will get Rs 1,000 each for daily hospital expenses for 10 days in the name of in-hospital daily cash.

-> 5,000 for cremation in case of accidental death.

Travel Expenses

-> Up to Rs 25,000 for travel expenses of family members to meet the policyholder in hospital. If the actual cost is less then that amount will be received.

-> The policy also covers the educational expenses of the policyholder’s 2 children

-> Benefit will be availed up to Rs.1 lakh or the actual expenditure whichever is less.

Deaths due to these causes are not covered by insurance

-> Accident and death due to suicide, military services, war, illegal activity and dangerous sports are not covered by the insurance.

-> Deaths caused by bacterial infections, diseases and AIDS are also not covered.
