Vijayamritham Scheme: Empowering Differently Abled Students Through Merit Recognition and Financial Support
Vijayamritham is a cash award scheme launched by the Government of Kerala in 2019 to encourage and support meritorious differently abled students who have secured high marks in Degree/Equivalent courses, Post Graduate & Professional courses. The scheme is implemented by the Department of Social Justice.
The scheme aims to:
- Provide financial assistance to meritorious differently abled students
- Motivate differently abled students to pursue higher education
- Mainstream differently abled students into society
- Create awareness among the public about the rights and potential of differently abled persons
The scheme is open to all differently abled students who have secured at least 60% marks in the qualifying examination. The amount of the cash award is as follows:
- Degree/Equivalent courses: Rs. 50,000
- Post Graduate & Professional courses: Rs. 1 lakh
To apply for the scheme, the students must submit an application form along with the following documents:
- Mark sheets of the qualifying examination
- Medical certificate from a government-recognized medical institution
- Income certificate from the tahsildar’s office
- Self-declaration stating that they are not receiving any other financial assistance from the government

The application forms can be downloaded from the website of the Department of Social Justice. The last date for submitting the applications is December 31 of each year.
